Smashing Magazine is a great source of design inspiration, but sometimes they come out with great articles on the more technical aspects of website development, such as the following article: 5 Useful Coding Solutions For Designers And Developers.

The subjects touched upon here include: CSS Timelines, Custom Page Styling, Text Flow Techniques, Animated Carousels, and Typography Styling. Many thanks to Soh Tanaka for a great article.

We here at the Sandbox love Drupal and see it as an excellent alternative to custom-built content management systems that draw upon our resources and inflate costs for our clients. If you haven’t tried Drupal, give it a chance and although the learning curve is quite steep for some (i.e. designers), you may find that once you’ve gone Drupal it’ll be difficult to go back to another CMS because it is clearly the most flexible and robust system out there.
